When the vivacious, spirited and intelligent Sonia Vedi, hailing from a chaste Brahmin family of Indian origin, introduces a tall, dark and handsome young Jamaican-Canadian as her future husband, clichéd as it sounds, all hell breaks loose. SAWITRI THEATRE takes you on a behind-the-scenes look at this hilarious play studded with music and movement -Bollywood style. SAWITRI’s projects focus on issues regarding women’s mental health, violence against women, women’s search for identity, women’s freedom to make their own choices.
